Activities
This part of western Norway offers a rich variety of experiences. You can spend a day in the old salt fish town of Kristiansund. In earlier days, Kristiansund, with its nice, natural harbour had a lot of commerce with Germany, Spain and Portugal. A 30 min. boat trip out in the Atlantic takes you to the famous small island of Grip which until just a few years ago was the smallest community in Norway. You may also see one of the smallest stave churches of Norway in Grip.

An other day you may visit the newly built "Atlantic road" which is a fabulous piece of road at the outer most part of the main-land, jumping from one small island to the other at abouth 9 km. From that road you may also take a fishing boat to visit "Haaholmen" which is a fantastic restored community, now run by the Torset family. The family is well known for their viking ship copies. If you go there you may see and even try a viking ship.

An other hour driving trip from Amundøy Island will take you to the "town of Roses" named Molde. This town is well known for it's marvelous view of the Romsdal alps. In July/August you may attend the jazz festival in Molde.
